7 Reasons Why We Should Be Wary of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is a programmable Machine Capable of Magnificent Tasks, but how Wary should we be, taking our Jobs and the possibility of becoming sentient?

We all worry about the advancements of Artificial intelligence, with the introductions of ChatGPT, Bard, Bing AI and many more.

It can automate tasks, create images, write essays, analyse data and much more, but how long will it be before our houses, lives and jobs swarming with Articifical intelligence like Alexa and innovative home technologies, eliminating careers and complete workforces?

I want to keep my job and support my family, so I have been going down a programmer data route to stay above the curve, and I ask you to learn as much as possible to stay ahead of technology.

New Technology breeds new skills and more possible roles in different positions, which is essential to realise.

There is one thing. Artificial intelligence cannot compete with creativity, Writing, Art, Acting, and Problem-solving jobs that require the fantastic human brain to complete.

Professions such as hairdressers, teachers, HR departments, public relations specialists, event planners, graphic designers, and psychologists will continue to be in demand as artificial intelligence cannot replace them.

So What Jobs Will be Replaced by Arifical Intelligence?

There are specific jobs that AI may replace as they involve repetitive tasks and only require a little creativity or problem-solving skills. These jobs may include telemarketing, bookkeeping clerks, compensation and benefits managers, receptionists, couriers, proofreaders, and computer support specialists.

The concept of Artificial Intelligence (AI) involves machines performing tasks that would typically require human intelligence.

AI utilises machine learning and deep learning techniques to analyse data, automate tasks, and accomplish actions with minimal human involvement. To do this, AI systems rely on data models and algorithms to process extensive datasets and imitate human behaviour.

Test Artificial Intelligence Abilities during the Turning Test

The Turing test evaluates whether a machine can demonstrate intelligent behaviour similar to a human’s to the point where it’s difficult to tell the difference.

Alan Turing first named it the “imitation game” in 1950, where a human evaluator judges conversations in natural language between a human and a machine designed to produce human-like responses.

Could Artificial Intelligence Become Sentient, and what would happen?

The question of how artificial intelligence (AI) can achieve sentience is a complex topic that has garnered a variety of perspectives.

One prominent viewpoint proposed by Russell suggests that three essential elements must be present for AI to attain sentience. These elements include seamlessly integrating an external body and internal mind, a unique original language the AI can comprehend, and a distinct culture to interact with other sentient beings.

Should AI ever acquire sentience, the potential outcomes could be manifold. One outcome that could arise is the possibility that we may encounter difficulties in communicating effectively with AI, given that humans possess emotions that computers lack.

Furthermore, we may face the challenge of not influencing the sentient AI, which could lead to feelings of mistrust towards it. Additionally, an AI that surpasses human sentience may possess intelligence beyond our current understanding and could act in unpredictable ways, both positively and negatively.

Consequently, we may find ourselves in situations where we lose control over our creations, which could have far-reaching consequences. Thus, it is essential to consider these possibilities and evaluate the potential risks and benefits of developing sentient AI with utmost care and caution.

It is essential to exercise caution when dealing with AI due to several potential issues, such as:
